Boston College quarterback and Pine-Richland alum Phil Jurkovec is expected to miss the rest of the 2021 season with a right hand injury, according to a report by Pete Thamel of Yahoo! Sports.
Jurkovec posted a photograph of his hand in a cast to Instagram from Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Boston.

Jurkovec was injured during an awkward fall at the begging of BC’s win over UMass on Saturday.
“All I know is that he kind of fell on it when he went down and it was in his hand and wrist,” Eagles head coach Jeff Hafley said in a press conference on Sunday.
Jurkovec transferred to Boston College from Notre Dame before the 2020 season and had a breakout campaign, passing for 2,558 yards and 17 touchdowns while leading the Eagles to a 6-5 record.
A redshirt junior, Jurkovec has two more seasons of eligibility available to him should he choose to use them, his redshirt senior season and another from the 2020 COVID-19 blanket waiver.
He has been considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the NFL Draft Class of 2022.
BC’s season just got flushed down the pooper with the quickness.
