California is a territory that the Pitt football program is making an attempt to pull talent from. During this current recruiting class of 2022, the Pitt coaching staff, led by Brennan Marion, has extended offers to seven players from California.

Looking ahead to the Class of 2023, that number has already increased to nineteen players, including the latest offer coming on Monday.

Kamron Taylor is a 2023 3-star running back from Jurupa Hills High School in Fontana, California. Taylor (5-foot-11, 175 pounds) is ranked by 247 Sports as one of the Top 20 junior running backs, with a current offer list of Oregon, Arizona, Maryland, Florida State, Nevada, Florida Atlantic and Florida International.

After announcing the offer from Marion and Pitt, Pittsburgh Sports Now caught up on Monday night with Taylor to get his thoughts on his latest Power Five offer.

“It’s amazing because this is one of the top programs and seeing some of the players that have gone there and also seeing players that have played there and then get drafted into the NFL it’s amazing to see,” said Taylor. “One of my strengths as a running back is finding the right hole to run through and also my ability to find cutback lanes.”

California is obviously a long way from Pittsburgh but that won’t play a part in Taylor’s eventual college decision or even his choice of where to make unofficial and official visits.

“I hope to start making more visits during the summer or even after our high school season is over for us.”
