Former Pitt wide receiver Maurice Ffrench is reunited with his former positions coach in college.

A getting released from the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad, French has signed on with the Los Angeles Chargers practice squad and is reunited with Chris Beatty, the wide receivers coach for the Chargers.

Ffrench signed with the Chiefs last season after going undrafted and stayed as a member of their practice squad for the entire season. He re-signed with the Chiefs during the off-season but was released a short time ago. Last season, he did not appear in an NFL game.

French finished his Pitt career with 156 catches for 1,637 yards and 14 touchdowns in 45 games. He was the Panthers top offensive weapon during his senior season as he collected 96 receptions for 850 yards.

French was the male recipient of the Panther Award, which is given to the senior student-athletes who have best promoted Pitt through their athletic achievements. The winners of this award have their names engraved on the Varsity Walk on Pitt’s campus.
