WPIAL Sportsmen/PSN WPIAL & City League Week 3 Rankings



It’s time to start the week with getting a look at the new WPIAL Sportsmen/PSN WPIAL and City League rankings.

Following this weekends results, here’s our latest rankings heading into Week 4 of the season.

1) Central Catholic– Handled Norwin and got the chance to rest a lot of starters. Next up- North Allegheny.

2) Mt. Lebanon- Dominated Canon Mac and were also afforded the opportunity to get a lot of younger players some varsity snaps.

3) Seneca Valley– Crushed Hempfield as they continue to build and prepare for a big end of the season run. Next up- Norwin.

4) North Allegheny– Demolished Baldwin and now are set for a big matchup against Central Catholic.

5) Canon Mac– Got hammered by Mt. Lebanon in a lackluster performance. Stays in Top 5 because they are better than Norwin, Hempfield and Baldwin. Next up- Baldwin.

1) Moon- Rolled over North Hills. Next up- Fox Chapel.

2) Gateway– Another impressive win as they blasted Bethel Park. Next up- Pine-Richland. This will be a big game in 5A.

3) Pine-Richland– Hammered Upper St. Clair in their first game in 5A. Next up- Gateway.

4) South Fayette– Good win against Chartiers Valley. Next up- Latrobe.

5) West Allegheny– This team is starting to grow on us because they have a lot of star talent this is starting to click.

Dropped Out- Penn-Trafford

1) Thomas Jefferson– Dominant performance against Trinity. Next up- Belle Vernon. Doesn’t get any bigger than this.

2) McKeesport- Best Canisius (New York).  Next up- Trinity.

3) Belle Vernon– Hammered West Mifflin. Next up- Thomas Jefferson.

4) Laurel Highlands- Beat Ringgold in a back and forth game. Next up- West Mifflin.

5) Aliquippa- Destroyed Ambridge. Next up- Quaker Valley.

1) Central Valley- Beat up Blackhawk. Next up- New Castle.

2) North Catholic- Hammered Valley. Next up- East Allegheny.

3) Avonworth- Tough loss to Sto-Rox but showed they are a team to deal with. Next up- South Side Beaver.

4) Southmoreland– Good win against South Allegheny. Next up- Mount Pleasant.

5) Highlands– Continues to roll as they enter the Top 5 for the first time this year. Next up- Hampton. Both teams are 4-0.

1) Sto-Rox- Big win against Avonworth. It was a tough battle as we told you it would be.

2) Serra Catholic- Beat up Seton-LaSalle mostly behind a dominant defense. Next up- Carlynton.

3) Washington– Another blowout win. It will be this way every week until the playoffs. Next up- Chariters-Houston.

4) Laurel- Beat up Beaver Falls. Next up- Riverside.

5) Neshannock- Tough loss to Mohawk but we still like this team so they will remain in Top 5. Next up- Freedom.

1) Bishop Canevin- Big win against a tough Springdale team. Next up- #2 Greensburg C.C. This will be a huge game in 1A.

2) Greensburg C.C.– Won by forfeit to Imani and now prepare for a massive battle against Bishop Canevin.

3) Clairton- Big win against Leechburg. Next up- Riverview.

4) Rochester- Bad loss to Union but their were some circumstances. No excuses they lost and now time to bounce back.

5) Springdale– Tough loss to Bishop Canevin but showed they are one of the better 1A teams.

City League:
1) Westinghouse- Beat up on Allderdice as they continue to roll.

2) Brashear- Big win against Erie.

3) USO- Handled Perry.

4) Perry- Loss to USO.

5) Allderdice- Got hammered by Westinghouse.

6) Carrick- Got beat up by Catholic Central of Ohio.
