Tonight will be another night of Friday Night high school football across Western Pennsylvania.

Pittsburgh Sports Now will have you covered as we’ll have reporters out a couple games and will keep you updated on game action throughout the evening with our Friday Night High School Football Scoreboard.

They’ll be plenty of good matchups tonight but are our the Top Five Matchups per our media partner, WPIAL Sportsmen.

Pine-Richland vs. Gateway:
*Good vs. Good. Both teams are battle tested and this will be a monster matchup. Very good chance these two teams will play each other in the 5A Championship Game. We get to watch two of the best quarterbacks in the state try and lead their team to victory: Cole Boyd (Pine-Richland) and Brad Birch (Gateway).

West Allegheny vs. Kiski:
*Two undefeated teams looking for respect and legitimacy in 5A. Jashon Spencer for West Allegheny might be the best player in the Western Pennsylvania. Gavin Miller for West Allegheny makes throwing the football look easy. Logan Johnson is a special quarterback for Kiski. LeBryan Smith from Kiski is one of the best defensive back prospects that we have seen this year with his size, length and physical play.

Penn Hills vs. Upper St. Clair:
*Two teams fight for their playoff lives and the loser will be in a bad spot. A lot of playmakers on the field, which makes for a good matchup. The Dugger brothers will be in the building for Penn Hills. Watch for Ethan Heister and Jamal Brown to have a big night for the “U”.

Central Catholic vs. North Allegheny:
*One of the best football games played in Western Pennsylvania. Two coaches who have the same philosophy which is to run the ball, play physical on defense and dominate special teams. It’s a fight for every yard on every play. Four yard runs are considered big plays. North Allegheny uses a host of players to run, throw and catch the ball. Look for Central to try and get the ball in the hands of Gannon Carothers and Pete Gonzalez. Brandon Jackson is a nightmare waiting to happen on special teams.

Central Catholic

Thomas Jefferson vs. Belle Vernon:
*Belle Vernon has two of the best skill players in the state with Devin Whitlock and Quinton Martin. Thomas Jefferson has the best offensive and defensive line in the state. A true clash of the titans. Both of these teams have a real chance to win the WPIAL and PIAA championship.
