Quarterback Kenny Pickett made the decision to return to Pitt and was hoping to open the eyes of NFL scouts. Four games into the 2021, Pickett is doing just that.
In Saturday’s game against New Hampshire, Pickett continued to tear apart opposing defenses as the Panther offense almost scored at will.
The Pitt offense scored on their six of seven possessions in the first half and it was largely due to the right arm of Pickett. For the game, Pickett went 24 of 28 for 403 yards and five touchdowns and added a touchdown on the ground. By the way, that rushing touchdown was the 17th of his career, which is now the new record for a Pitt quarterback.
Here’s an illustration of just how productive Pickett has been in 2021 and how he’s improved as a quarterback. Take a took at touchdown passes for Pickett during his Panther career. The touchdown right before the half to Taysir Mack was his 14th of the season, which is a new career-high.
Pickett Touchdown Passes In A Season:
2018: 12 TD passes in 310 attempts
2019: 13 TD passes in 469 attempts
2020: 13 TD passes in 332 attempts
2021: 15 TD passes in 132 attempts
Really happy for Kenny. Really nice to see his season starting off so well.
Best QB in the nation.
