When your offense is averaging 40+ points per game, it’s hard to complain about anything but, the inability to run the football has been a re-occurring problem for Pitt for a few seasons.
Pat Narduzzi has been unable to settle on a lead back and has been forced to rotate a variety of backs.
Although the competition wasn’t outstanding, the Panthers rushing attack picked up 250 yards today and were led by freshman Rodney Hammond.
The former 4-star recruit from Virginia rushed 17 times for 100 yards and scored 3 touchdowns. Hammond became the first Pitt freshman back to score 3 touchdowns in a game since Dion Lewis did it against Cincinnati back in 2009.
Hammond did a real nice job.
