Keith Dambrot has added someone with 20+ years of experience to his basketball staff.
The Dukes announced today the hiring of Andy Allison as the teams Director of Player Personnel and Development. Allison’s resume includes spending nine years at UMass (administrative staff and assistant coach), along with working in basketball operations under John Calipari at Memphis. For the last three seasons, Allison has been an assistant coach at Division II Stockton University.
Duquesne basketball on Pittsburgh Sports Now is sponsored by The Summit Academy: setting young men on the path to a better future.
“We are very fortunate to have Andy join our staff,” said Dambrot. “He has been at the highest levels of college basketball and been part of teams that have had post-season success at both Memphis and UMass. We go way back with Andy through our family here at Duquesne and we look forward to him contributing greatly to our program.”
“I feel very fortunate to be able to do what I love around great people at a special place,” said Allison. “Coach Dambrot and his staff have created a real, authentic family environment that I’m proud to be a part of. We’re in a great city with a beautiful new arena and I’m looking forward to helping this program continue to advance.”
Duquesne opens the 2021 season as they’ll host Rider on November 9 at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.
