It’s time to start the week with getting a look at the new WPIAL Sportsmen/PSN WPIAL and City League rankings.
Following this weekends results, here’s our latest rankings heading into Week 4 of the season.
WPIAL 6A:
1) Central Catholic– Tough, hard fought win against North Allegheny. Big matchup next week against a really good and rested Seneca Valley team.
2) Mt. Lebanon- Ran right through Hempfield. Big test next week against North Allegheny.
3) Seneca Valley– Won by forfeit. Next game against Central Catholic.
4) North Allegheny-Tough loss against Central Catholic. Next up against Mt. Lebanon.
5) Canon Mac-Beat up Baldwin baldly and will do the same to Hempfield next game.
WPIAL 5A:
1) Moon- Rolled over Fox Chapel. Big matchup next game against South Fayette.
2) Pine-Richland– Big win against Gateway. Next game against Penn Hills.
3) South Fayette– Dominant performance against Latrobe. Huge matchup against Moon next.
4) Gateway– Sloppy performance and tough loss to Pine-Richland. Next up Latrobe.
5) Kiski– Gut check win led by a strong defense over West Allegheny. Next up North Hills.
Dropped Out- West Allegheny
WPIAL 4A:
1) Belle Vernon– EPIC win over Thomas Jefferson in a back and forth game. Next up Laurel Highlands.
2) Thomas Jefferson- Tough, close loss to Belle Vernon. Bye week upcoming.
3) McKeesport– The Port keeps rolling as they hammered Trinity. Next up Ringgold.
4) Aliquippa- Hammered Quaker Valley. This team is starting to roll and that’s not a good thing for other teams in 4A. Next up is Beaver.
5) Laurel Highlands- Remains undefeated by beating West Mifflin. Next up against Belle Vernon.
WPIAL 3A:
1) Central Valley- Another demolition with this one coming against New Castle. Next up Quaker Valley.
2) North Catholic- Pulled away in the 2nd half against East Allegheny and won. Next up Burrell.
3) Avonworth- Tough win against South Side Beaver. Next up Keystone Oaks.
4) Elizabeth Forward– Beat up Beth Center. Next up South Park.
5) Mount Pleasant– Defeats Southmoreland. Next up Yough.
WPIAL 2A:
1) Sto-Rox- Hammered Shady Side. Next up South Side Beaver.
2) Serra Catholic- Tough game against Freeport but found a way to get it done. Next game against Shady Side.
3) Washington– Beat up Chartiers-Houston. Next game against Beth-Center.
4) Laurel- Hammered Riverside. Next up Freedom.
5) Neshannock- Destroyed Freedom. Next up Ellwood City.
WPIAL 1A:
1) Bishop Canevin- Tough win against No. 2 Greensburg Central Catholic. Next up Clairton.
2) Clairton– Dominated Riverview and sets up big game against No. 1 Bishop Canevin next week.
3) Greensburg Central Catholic- Tough loss against No. 1 Bishop Canevin. They have Springdale next.
4) Rochester- Win by forfeit over Burgettstown. Next up is a big game against OLSH.
5) OLSH– Beat Fort Cherry. Next up is Rochester.
City League:
1) Westinghouse- Beat Union Local.
2) Brashear- Beat Perry.
3) USO- Lost to Allderdice.
4) Perry- Lost to Brashear.
5) Allderdice-Â Beat USO
6) Carrick- Lost to Ligonier Valley.
