Pitt’s Class of 2022 is down another man as another lineman from Florida has decided to decommit.
Tuesday morning, 3-star offensive lineman/defensive end Bradley Mann announced he was opening up his recruitment, after previously committing to Pitt.

Mann released this statement on Twitter: “After much thought and many conversations with my family and coaches, I have decided to reopen my recruitment to re-evaluate my decision and make sure I made the right choice. I would like to thank Pitt’s staff for recruiting me and still will be considering them through this process.”
This announcement doesn’t come as a total surprise considering how quick Mann decided to originally commit to Pitt in July.
After receiving an offer from Tim Salem on June 18, Mann made a mid-week official visit soon after. Following that trip to Pittsburgh, Mann announced his commitment to the Panthers on July 11.
Mann becomes the fourth recruit to leave Pitt’s Class of 2022, joining offensive tackle Ja’Kavion Nonar, defensive tackle Elijah Statham and Aveon Grose. It should be pointed out that the decision to decommit for a couple of those players might not have been their own choice.
The news with Mann leaves 11 players in Pitt’s Class of 2022 which opens things up for a number of players.
If there were truth in some of the decommits: “After discussion with my family, I’m reopening my recruitment because so-and-so university believes that they’ll be able to land a better prospect than me.”
Always sucks to see recruits decommit but they’re all young people and young people tend to change their minds as frequently as they change their underwear so it’s going to happen from tine to time.
Would be nice to see Pitt land another talented linebacker or two to go along with Pope in the 2022 class. A talented tight end would fit nicely on the wish list also.
Football is going the same direction as men’s basketball with transfers replacing high school commitments.
Playing Tennessee 2-weeks ago, the starting qb and his replacement were with other programs last year.
Transfers are becoming the method of choice for Power 5 schools. Tennessee’s starter was a Wolverine last year and his back transferred from Virginia Tech.
