On Wednesday, Jeff Capel offered another prospect in the class of 2022, this time shifting away from the wing position and targeting a big man.
That prospect is Luke Hunger, a 6-foot-10, 255-pound power forward out of Canada. Hunger plays for Northfield Mount Hermon in Massachusetts, as well as BABC on the circuit. Hunger is known as a tough, physical rebounder with increasing range on his jump-shot. Although he is unranked, his strong play throughout the summer has led to increased interest and offers from high major schools as of late.
After he picked up his first offer from Miami back in May, he was mostly being targeted by mid-major and Ivy League schools heading into late July. However, this summer, Hunger broke through and picked up offers from Boston College, Ole Miss, Northwestern, and Pitt, as well as a number of mid-major schools. Hunger has visited Miami, Richmond, and Harvard, and his overall recruitment is heating up steadily as the season nears.
Capel watched Hunger play back in late June and has been interested in him ever since. Now, with an offer on the table, the logical next step in this recruitment would be inviting Hunger onto campus for a visit.
Time for Capel to go. This is embarrassing.
