Former NFL player and Jeannette native Terrelle Pryor was arrested and charged with simple assault and harassment in Penn Township, Westmoreland County Wednesday night, according to court records.

Pryor was arraigned on Wednesday morning and released on $100,000 unsecured bail.

Pryor has been charged with simple assault, which is a second-degree misdemeanor, harassment and criminal mischief, which are both summary offenses. WTAE’s Jim Madalinsky reported that officials said Pryor allegedly hit a woman following an altercation.

Pryor was involved in a domestic incident in 2019 when he was stabbed by his girlfriend, Shalaya Briston, at his Pittsburgh apartment and taken to the hospital in critical condition with wounds to his chest and neck. Both Pryor and Briston were charged with assault at the time.

Pryor spent time with five NFL teams throughout the 2010s, playing quarterback and wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets. Prior to his time in the NFL, Pryor was a standout football and basketball player at Jeannette High School before attending Ohio State University.
