On Wednesday, Pitt assistant coach Jason Capel once again took a look at 2023 prospect Marlon Barnes during practice at Brush High School, Barnes told Pittsburgh Sports Now.
Barnes has become one of Pitt’s top targets in the class, as he has visited Pitt multiple times already, including a recent trip down for the first Pitt football game of the season.
In an interview with PSN after that visit, Barnes had some great things to say about Pitt.
“As of right now, probably Pitt,” Barnes said when asked who was in the lead for his recruitment. “They have been on me heavy, and of course I’ve been down there a few times. The coaches are very interested and they like me a lot.”

Capel can check all he wants – more smoke and mirrors so, it appears that he’s doing something – but Barnes ain’t going to Pitt.
