With a week off to rest and recuperate after a 52-21 win over Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh gets a Virginia Tech team that allowed No. 14 Notre Dame to escape with a walk-off field goal on Saturday. A 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Lane Stadium promises to be a tough environment for Pitt.

Early betting lines from Circa Sports are too close to call, with the game classified as a “pick’em” or toss-up, and the over/under is set at 53.5 points. However, the major betting sites lean slightly in Pitt’s favor.

FanDuel SportsBook opens with Pitt as a 4.5-point favorite against the Hokies, with a bet for Pitt at -4.5 and Virginia Tech at +4.5 set at -110 odds. A Moneyline bet for Pitt holds -215 odds while the same bet for Virginia Tech holds +265 odds.

DraftKings SportsBook opens with Pitt as a 4-point favorite, with a bet against the spread holding -110 odds for both teams. The over/under is set at 58 points, with a bet for either holding -110 odds. A Moneyline bet for Pitt holds -200 odds while the same bet for Virginia Tech holds +170 odds.

Pitt and Virginia Tech have met 20 times before, with Virginia Tech holding an 11-9 advantage all-time. Although Pitt won last season’s matchup 47-14, the Hokies are 7-2 against Pitt at home. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at Lane Stadium, the game being broadcast on ESPN2.
