Duquesne quarterback Darius Perrantes continues to perform as one of the best overall players in the NEC.
On Monday, Perrantes was named the Co-Offensive Conference Player of the Week, which is the second time he’s earned that honor in 2021. The last Dukes player to win the NEC Offensive Player of the Week multiple times in a season was running back AJ Hines back in 2018. He is the first Duquesne quarterback do do so since Sean Patterson in 2010.
In Duquense’s 39-34 win over Bryant, Perrantes (Los Angeles, California) completed 29-of-41 passes for 316 yards (career-high) and three touchdown passes. He also rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown. The 29 completions were the most by a Duquesne quarterback since Dillon Buechel connected on 33 passes in 2015.
Perrantes and the Dukes are off this weekend and return to action next Saturday (October 23) when they travel to take on Sacred Heart. The game will air on ESPN3 with a kickoff at Noon.
