The West Virginia Mountaineer football program has their eyes on a player currently committed to Pat Narduzzi and Pitt.

On Tuesday, WVU extended an offer to 2022 3-star wide receiver Cam Brown from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Brown gave Pitt a verbal commitment after making an official visit in June. The 6’3″, 190 big-play wideout has been a standout this season for nationally ranked St. Thomas Aquinas.

Pittsburgh Sports Now caught up this morning with Brown to get his thoughts on the offer and his commitment level to the Panthers.

“I’m glad that they (teams) are finally starting to look at who I really am and I’m just blessed and thankful,” said Brown. “West Virginia likes me as a player and they say that I deserve everything coming my way.”

“I’m still working to reach my goals and taking one game at a time but just know that I wouldn’t be nothing without my quarterback Zion Turner.”

So with this new offer, what is Brown’s commitment level with Pitt?

“I’m 100% committed.”

One of the things that still has Brown excited about Pitt is their high-powered offense that has been carving up opposing defenses this 2021 season. Brennan Marion will be losing a few receivers to graduation following the season and Brown looks forward to making an early impression like Jordan Addison did in 2020.

“I’m really high on their coaching staff and especially the guy that’s going to be coaching me, Coach Marion,” said Brown. “He had some things what highly stuck with me and has had me thinking like dang, I like this school because of that. He told me that he’s so proud of me. It’s still H2P! He’s really shown me that he wants what’s best for me.”
