On Thursday, Pitt head coach Jeff Capel will be in attendance at Imani Christian watching local star Alier Maluk’s practice, Maluk’s coach told Pittsburgh Sports Now.

Maluk is a 6-foot-10 South Sudan native who lives in Baldwin and attends Imani Christian. The freshman in high school is one of the most intriguing prospects the WPIAL has seen in years, and was offered by Pitt just a few months back.

Maluk was originally offered by Pitt in late August, and shortly after broke down the offer with PSN.

“I have been to some [Pitt] games,” Maluk told PSN in August. “I have driven by the campus before too. I know that the student section is what they’re really known for, the Oakland Zoo. I don’t know much about Pitt itself, though.”

He also holds offers from Seton Hall, Texas A&M, and LSU, and was recently paid a visit by John Calipari and the Kentucky staff, who were recruiting the young star on Oct. 12.
