On Sunday, Amani Hansberry confirmed to Pittsburgh Sports Now that he is in the process of planning an official visit to Pitt.
Hansberry is a 6-foot-8, 220-pound power forward from Washington D.C. who plays his high school ball for Mount St. Joe High School in Baltimore, Maryland. Hansberry unofficially visited Pitt back in mid-June, just weeks after recruits were once again allowed back on campuses.
“The visit went great,” Hansberry told PSN after the trip. “My first impression, it was, like, city. But once I got to campus, that is when I saw that you can kind of get the best of both worlds. There’s a little bit of grass, then you go around the corner, around the block, and it’s a city. So, I enjoyed it.”
As first reported by Dushawn London of 247 Sports, Hansberry is also working on setting up official visits to NC State, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech, as well as an unofficial visit to Penn State. He also told PSN that he does not know exactly when he will be visiting Pitt.
Although his ranking has dropped significantly in the past few months, just last January, Hansberry made his debut in the Rivals 150 rankings as the No. 19 player in the class of 2023. The junior big man is clearly one of Jeff Capel’s top targets in the class.
