For the first time in his professional career, former Pitt center Jimmy Morrissey is part of a teams 53-man roster.
NFL Insider Aaron Wilson reports that the Houston Texans have signed Morrissey off of the Las Vegas Raiders’ practice squad and added them to their roster. The Texans starting center Justin Britt continues to be sidelined with a knee injury and wanted depth at the position. Justin McCray started last week for the Texans against Indianapolis.
The Raiders selected Morrissey (6’4″, 305) in the 7th round of the 2021 NFL Draft and was signed to their practice squad at the start of the season.
While at Pitt, Morrissey was the rock of the Panthers offensive line as he was a 47-game starter and a three-time All-ACC selection.
On Tuesday, another former Panther received some good news as punter Ryan Winslow was added to the Carolina Panthers 53-man roster.
How great it is to see these Pitt Men get their shot!
Hail to Pitt!!
Good for JM and RW … well-deserved. H2P !
