Wide receiver Zion Fowler (6’1″, 185), from St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, New Jersey, decided to end his recruitment and made a commitment to Pat Narduzzi’s program.
At this point of his recruitment, Fowler only held three offers (Virginia Tech and UMass) but his talent and big play ability was obvious to Brennan Marion and the staff when he attended a Pitt prospects camp in June. Following that camp, Narduzzi and Marion immediately offered him a scholarship. Fowler was also hearing from Penn State, Notre Dame, Boston College, Syracuse and Nebraska. He recently made unofficial visits to Penn State for their game against Auburn and also to Notre Dame when they hosted Cincinnati.
Fowler planned to attend the game against Clemson last weekend but wasn’t able to make it because his high school team had a game on Saturday. However, he recently saw the Panthers play in-person when he made an unofficial visit to Virginia Tech when the took on Pitt.
Pittsburgh Sports Now will have more with Fowler later on today.
