Tuesday, the Atlantic Coastal Conference announced its 2021 Football honors class and a Pitt Football legend made the list.
Pittsburgh quarterback Dan Marino was selected to the 2021 class as he broke nearly every major passing record in school history and set a Pitt career-high in passing yards, (8,597) and completions (693). Marino still holds the school records for touchdown passes in a career with (79). He was also named an All-American and placed fourth in Heisman Trophy voting in 1981.
Marino was a first-round draft pick of the Dolphins in 1983 and had an illustrious NFL career breaking records in his 17-year career. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2005,
The 14-member group will be honored during the ACC Football Honors on Dec. 3, as well as the on-field pregame festivities for the ACC Championship game on December 4, in Charlotte North Carolina.
