Recruiting News Concerning Laurel Highlands 2023 4-Star WR Rodney Gallagher

Published

on

Rodney Gallagher is one of the top talents in the WPIAL Class of 2023 and is being recruited by many of the top programs in the country.

The four-star wide receiver from Laurel Highlands High School is only a junior, so he’s in no rush to make his college decision, but could he be making that in the near future?

Gallagher raised some eyes on Tuesday morning when he released this tweet.

Does this mean that Gallagher will be announcing his decision or could he just be releasing a list of his top schools?

Pittsburgh Sports Now reached out to Gallagher this morning in order to find out exactly what this tweet means but he respectfully said that he “won’t be speaking on it until the date comes.”

This no doubt has gotten the attention of plenty of programs, especially Pitt, Penn State and West Virginia. In the last couple of months, Gallagher has made official visits to all three teams. This past weekend, Gallagher was in Morgantown for WVU’s game against Oklahoma State. He’s also made multiple trips to State College for Penn State games and was at Heinz Field on back-to-back weekends for Pitt’s games against Clemson and Miami. This isn’t to say that these are the only teams that Gallagher is considering because that’s not the case but these are places that he’s recently visited.

Keep in mind, Gallagher has a desire to play both football and basketball in college and holds offers from both the football and basketball programs at Pitt, Penn State and West Virginia. In terms of football, Rivals ranks Gallagher as the No. 98 overall player in the Class of 2023, while 247 Sports has him at No. 65.

He is highly coveted by Pat Narduzzi, James Franklin and Neal Brown. Will one of them be adding this major talent to their program? We could be finding out to that question on December 9.
