The Pitt men’s basketball team is reportedly going to participate in a highly competitive preseason basketball tournament next season.
Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports that Pitt will be in the field of the 2022 Legends Classic.
Rothstein says that Pitt, Michigan, Arizona State and VCU will headline next year’s field. The location of this tournament has not yet been determined. The 2021 Legends Classic is being held at the Prudential Center in Newark with Virginia, Georgia, Providence and Northwestern as the field.
This season, Pitt is part of the Gotham Classic at Madison Square Garden on December 18, along with St. John’s, Seton Hall, Iona, Colgate and Monmouth. Two years, Pitt beat Northwestern in the championship game of the Fort Myers Classic.
