After an embarrassing season-opening loss to The Citadel, Pitt fans knew that it was going to be a long season. But one day later, things became even darker when the program’s lone commit, four-star Judah Mintz, de-committed from the program.
The basketball program is now officially a dumpster fire. I don’t blame Judah. I would have done the same. Capel needs to go. The problem is who wants the job?
I don’t know where we head from here. This season is going to be be an unmitigated disaster though.
That lost and all the so called Pitt fans with all the negativity talk about their coach probably helped with the decommitment. I'm sure with him looking on Twitter seeing all the negative messages about Pitt made him say yes I want to go there so I hope y'all are happy!!
ESPN 100 guard Judah Mintz announces he’s decommitting from Pittsburgh. No. 43 in the 2022 class. Really liked him over the summer. Makes shots, plays with energy. Immediately becomes one of the best available seniors. https://t.co/LejdYmqDOr
What looked like a potential year maybe in the right direction has gone totally off the rails. You lose your best athlete to an ACL injury. Your top transfer also hurt. Your best shooter suspended. You best recruit opens up recruitment. What a nightmare few weeks for Pitt Bball
The worst thing about the Capel era was that he was realistically a good hire. At the time, it was probably our best-case scenario. It still spiraled out of control. Not sure who can turn the program around at this point.
