Watch: Tempers Flare in First Half of Backyard Brawl

Published

on

In the first half of Pitt’s contest at West Virginia, the sold-out crowd, West Virginia’s scrappy defense, and more on-court antics contributed to some very heated moments between the two teams.

Pitt sophomore Femi Odukale has been hearing it from the West Virginia fans all game, receiving boos every time he has touched the ball since the opening tip. After hearing the chants, Odukale scored a layup minutes into the game, and ran down the floor blowing a kiss to the WVU student section.

Throughout the rest of the half, the WVU players continued to pressure Odukale and forced four turnovers from the sophomore. The Pitt staff and players quickly ran to the aid of Odukale in two specific instances, holding him back and preventing any more conflict.

Hugley should leave the program for the benefit of his career. This team is pathetic. Zero talent to compete in the ACC. This program is dead

What is pathetic is your attempt to influence a Pitt player. I saw a team that stayed 100% for each other through a tough game. They lost but never showed a “loser” attitude. The kind you exemplify.

This isn’t the YMCA cupcake…it’s the ACC and pitt hasn’t been able to compete at this level for years now …as long as homers keep supporting it, things won’t change. In case you missed it, they have zero commitments for next year…real players see it

Why don’t you show your true colors? What school do you root for?
