Florida St. Beats Miami so Pitt Can Clinch Coastal Division On Saturday

Published

on

Thanks to so help today from Florida State, the Pitt Panthers are one step away from clinching the ACC Coastal Division.

Jordan Travis scored on a one-yard TD on a quarterback sneak with 26 second left in the game giving Florida State a 31-28 win over rival Miami.

The loss eliminates Miami (5-5, 3-3) from Coastal Division contention and means that the race is down to two teams: Pitt and Virginia.

For Pitt, it’s real simple, if they win on Saturday against Virginia, they clinch the Coastal Division and earn a spot in the ACC Championship game in Charlotte on December 4.

If Virginia beats Pitt, the Cavaliers would win the division if they win the following week at home against Virginia Tech or if Pitt loses at Syracuse.

As of this post, kickoff time for the Pitt/Virginia game has not been announced.

I want to buy in on the hype but we’ve been here before and watched it all flushed away (Cincinnati). I’ll believe when it is 0:00 on the clock at Syracuse.

The Pitt staff should get hold of the game film and study it all off season to learn how to maybe beat Miami.
