Pitt moved up to No. 18 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings that were released on Tuesday.
The Panthers had been ranked No. 21, but moved up three spots after defeating North Carolina on Thursday night.
The committee likes the Panthers more than the polls. The AP Top 25 has the Panthers ranked No. 20 and the USA Today/AFCA coaches poll put Pitt at No. 19.
Georgia remains ranked No. 1, followed by Alabama, Oregon and Ohio State in the top four, with the committee still not trusting unbeaten Group of Five leader Cincinnati, who checked in a at No. 5.
Five one-loss Power Five teams — Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State and Wake Forest — rounded out the Top 10.

If Pitt wins out, what bowl do they project to play in?
Is the ACC champion set in stone to play in a certain bowl or would it still be up in the air?
Because the Orange Bowl is hosting a playoff semifinal, the ACC champ will play in either the Fiesta Bowl or the Peach Bowl.
Probable opponents could include Notre Dame, the top-ranked Group of Five team, or the No. 3 team from the Big Ten, Big 12 or SEC.
Thanks Alan.
