PITTSBURGH — On Tuesday night, Pitt took home its first victory of the 2021-22 season, in an effort that Jeff Capel described as “winning ugly.”
The Panthers, led by Femi Odukale and John Hugley, held the lead for the entire game. However, this win was the opposite of smooth sailing, especially down the stretch.
Pitt hit just one of its last 13 field goal attempts. UNCW? Even worse. The Seahawks made just one of their last 15 attempts, struggling to come all the way back and take down Pitt.
While it is not the most glamorous of victories, Jeff Capel and his players are still going to appreciate this win afterwards.
