Brian O’Neill signed a 5-year, $92.5 million extension with the Minnesota Vikings prior to the 2021 season and his former Pitt teammate cornerback Avonte Maddox also has a new deal.

On Saturday, the Philadelphia Eagles announced that they’ve signed Maddox to a 3-year, $22.5 million, this deal includes $13.3 million in guaranteed money.

Last season, Maddox played in 10 games and recorded 48 tackles, two forced fumbles, four pass deflections and one interception. Since being drafted in the 4th round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Maddox has developed into one of the Eagles top and most reliable defensive backs.

For his career, Maddox has started 25 games, recorded 3 interceptions, forced four fumbles, 2 sacks and collected 170 tackles.
