Pitt DT Calijah Kancey Returns after Leaving ACC Championship Game with Injury
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Pitt defensive tackle Calijah Kancey suffered an apparent right leg injury in the first quarter of the Panthers’ 2021 ACC Championship Game against Wake Forest on Saturday.
Kancey was injured on Wake Forest’s first offensive drive of the game. He was helped off the field with the assistance of trainers, but could not put any weight on his right leg. Kancey was replaced on Pitt’s first-team defense by Tyler Bentley and Devin Danielson.
Pitt is already without wide receivers Jaylon Barden and Taysir Mack and right guard Jake Kradel for the game.
UPDATE: Kancey returned to the game on the following Wake Forest possession.
