Duquesne Womens’ Non-Conference Finale Canceled Due to COVID-19 Concerns at Cornell

According to a university-issued press release, Duquesne’s women’s basketball game Tuesday against has been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns within Cornell’s team.

The game will be the first of any of Pittsburgh’s Division I college basketball teams to be canceled for COVID-19 reasons in the 2021-22 season. The Penn State men’s and women’s basketball teams have also been dealing with cancellations, as an increased spread of the virus has impacted sports once again.

The cancellation mens that Saturday’s afternoon contest against Penn State will serve as Duquesne’s non-conference finale before Atlantic 10 play tips off Jan. 1 at Richmond. Dan Burt’s squad currently sits with a 5-6 record on the season.
