According to multiple reports, Julian Champagnie will not play in Saturday’s game against Pitt at Madison Square Garden due to a positive COVID-19 test.
Champagnie would be a huge loss for the Red Storm, as he enters the game as the team’s leading scorer. In this his third season with the program, he is averaging 20.3 points per game along with 6.7 rebounds.
The brother of former Pitt star Justin Champagnie, Julian was at one point committed to Pitt for a very short time in his high school career. However, he ultimately decided to go to St. John’s which has clearly been a solid choice as well.
