Pitt BB Recruiting

Milan Brown, Pitt Showing Interest in 2023 PG Silas Demary

For the past several months, Pitt associate head coach Milan Brown has spent time recruiting Silas Demary, a point guard in the class of 2023.

Demary, a Wake Forest, North Carolina native, attends Liberty Heights in North Carolina. He stands at 6-foot-4, 185 pounds, and plays the point guard position.

“My best strength on the court is just being a very vocal leader and just making myself known in the game. Just being an all-around guy. And then my defensive prowess. My outside shot is pretty good, I am capable of knocking down the open shot and also scoring at all three levels.”

Demary told PSN that Florida, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Pitt, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, NC State, Virginia, and Georgia Tech have all been showing interest lately. In addition to those schools, he has picked up offers from Texas A&M, App State, VCU, St. John’s, Wichita State, Providence, and more.

“I know they’re in the ACC and that they’re a pretty good school,” Demary said about Pitt. “The basketball program is also pretty good. I don’t know too much, but I’m still learning about the school.”

Brown started recruiting him for Pitt just over three months ago when his high school season was starting up.

“Mostly, he’s been talking about trying to come to a game, or he’ll tell me I played pretty well because he watched my live stream. Sometimes it will be about trying to get me up there for a game or something, or just some more information about the program.”

Demary is ranked as a three-star prospect, as well as the No. 105 player in the class, by 247 Sports.
