Pittsburgh Sports Now has learned that Chris Howard is leaving as President of Robert Morris University.

We’re being told that the 52-year old Howard is heading to Arizona State, where he’ll be named as the executive vice president and chief operating officer of the ASU enterprise. He will begin this job in early February.

In addition, Howard’s wife Barbara has accepted a job at Arizona State as a University Fellow for non-profit leadership.

Howard became the 8th President in the history of Robert Morris back in 2016.

The Robert Morris Board of Trustees has named Mary Ann Rafoth, as the interim president. The search for a permanent successor for Howard has immediately begun.

Arizona State has a good (but not elite) hockey program. Their closest opponents are in Colorado.

If Robert Morris was able to cut their hockey program…….Just sayin’.
