Ithiel Horton Sidelined Indefinitely After Four Charges Refiled

Published

on

On Saturday, ahead of Pitt’s game against Boston College, the Pitt athletic program announced that Ithiel Horton will not play until his criminal case is fully resolved.

Shortly after the charges were refiled, the school released the below statement regarding the situation.

“The University of Pittsburgh was notified that charges had been re-filed from the incident in early November and is adhering to athletic department policies. The case had been resolved when all charges were dismissed on Dec. 30.  However, with the charges being re-filed Ithiel will not compete until the matter is resolved. We will continue to support Ithiel during this trying time and look forward to an appropriate resolution.”

Back on Dec. 30, all four of Horton’s charges – Aggravated Assault, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, and Public Drunkenness – were dismissed, according to court records obtained by Pittsburgh Sports Now.

However, just over one week later, the officer involved has now refiled all four charges. These charges came from a November incident in which Horton was involved on the South Side of Pittsburgh. There, he allegedly punched a police officer after a dispute with a tow-truck operator.

Horton played in one game for the Panthers after the charges were dropped on the 30th, and quickly made his presence known for a struggling Pitt squad. In that game, against Louisville, Horton went 5 of 9 from the field, including 3 for 5 from three-point land, and scored 13 points. He also grabbed four rebounds in the loss.

Pitt will take on Boston College Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center.

Isn’t that interesting. Hmmm. Thought this was resolved, right?

“We will continue to support Ithiel during this trying time”. Huh? Why? Assault and misogynistic language should never be accepted by Pitt students.

H2P.

Joe Bunda is worried about you. He thinks that you’re having a mental breakdown. I explained to him that clearly that ship has sailed years ago.

The old man from Greensburg is off his meds again & projecting his profane fantasies on this site. Your parents would be so proud if they had not died 40 years ago.

And they clearly never showed you any love when you were a child. It was the 1940’s & times were different then but it’s still a shame & most likely the cause of your mental illness & your obsession with men’s rectums.

Easy to see this doesn’t happen to people of a different socio economic background. What a bunch of crap, officer and prosecutor miss two previous court dates, IT sure doesnt get that option.

What did you expect? That the guy could assault someone and the charges would be dropped because he plays college basketball? It was pretty clear that the case was probably moving forward.

If this “doesn’t happen to people of different socio economic” backgrounds, then explain the Hughley case.

The only thing out of the norm here is someone punching a cop.

Grow up.

These kids need to respect the police. Especially ones getting free rides & representing a University. Then perhaps things will start changing some.

Did you witness the encounter? No because you’re a feeble old man who never leaves the house. Stay in your lane Pap.
