The 2021 college football season officially ended Monday night as Georgia defeated Alabama, 33-18, to win to their first National Championship since 1980.
The close of a season also brings the final team rankings and for the first time since 2009, the Pitt Panthers end a football season ranked.
In the final AP Top 25 rankings, Pitt finishes ranked No. 13. That is the Panthers best final AP ranking since the 1982 season when they finished No. 10.
Per final AP ranking, this ties as the 12th-best season in Pitt history since the poll started in 1936.

How did Michigan State finish 4 spots ahead of Pitt when we almost beat them with our third string quarterback and without our offensive coordinator. Our first team q.b. is projected to be the first q.b. picked in the NFL draft and he didn’t play. If we go full strength against full strength, we beat MSU by 14 easily. These rankings are ridiculous.
So you’re saying that even though Michigan State beat Pitt & finished with a better record, Pitt should have been ranked ahead of Michigan State? This is definitely an interesting perspective however I’m guessing that you are the only person on the planet who believes this.
