On Monday, the Atlantic 10 announced that Duquesne freshman Primo Spears has been named the conference’s Rookie of the Week for the second time throughout this season.

In Duquesne’s lone game of the week against St. Bonaventure, Spears scored 18 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the field. He also dished out six assists in the contest.

Spears has now scored at least 18 points in three of his last four games, dating back to his 21-point outburst against Massachusetts on Jan. 8.

This season, Spears is averaging 12.6 points per game, shooting 39% from the field and 33% from three-point land. Additionally, he is leading the team in scoring in conference play, with an average of 17.8 points per game against A-10 opponents.

He needs to stay at DU and become the best player in the A10. Lead Dukes to postseason, and then get to the NBA. Could also be a legend on the Bluff and in Pittsburgh forever.
