Pat Narduzzi Checks Out Three Aliquippa Quips Prior To Pitt’s Junior Day

It was a busy Friday for Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi as he was out on the recruiting trail. This was the last day that coaches were permitted to make in-person visits, so he wanted to take full advantage of it.
Narduzzi and Charlie Partridge started Friday morning recruiting the state of Florida and finished the evening at a high school basketball game back in Pittsburgh.
Narduzzi and Pitt assistant director of player personnel Karlo Zovko traveled to Avonworth High School to recruit three members of the Aliquippa football team, who also play basketball.
Pitt had their eyes on Aliquippa 2024 linebacker Cameron Lindsey, 2023 safety Donovan Walker and 2024 athlete Brandon Banks. Lindsey’s recruitment has taken off this month with offers from Penn State, West Virgina, UConn, Toledo and Cincinnati. Walker currently holds offers from Eastern Michigan and Albany. Last week, Banks received his first Division I offer from Eastern Michigan.
“Coach Narduzzi coming out to see our game felt good to know that he wanted to come check me and my friends out,” said Lindsey. “It was pretty funny because my teammate Tikey had told me that he was here and that he knew my name so that was pretty funny. What that tells me I think is they have some interest in me and wanna see how I do in other sports which was a blessing because they don’t come around that often.”
While Lindsey didn’t have the chance to speak with Narduzzi last night, he will today because the talented linebacker will be making an unofficial visit to Pitt. Lindsey is looking forward to getting to know his hometown school better and there’s probably a good chance that offer from Pitt comes in person.
“My feelings going into today’s junior day is that I hopefully enjoy my time today seeing the coaches and seeing their campus. Also, putting on a jersey is always fun! I hope the offer does come. It would be great to cap off a great day I hope.”
Lindsey will be joined on the visit with Banks, Walker and Aliquippa freshman running back Tiqwai Hayes, who already holds an offer from Pitt.
