After being sidelined for Pitt’s last game due to COVID protocols, Panthers’ head coach Jeff Capel, along with his brother, assistant coach Jason Capel, will be back on the bench for Wednesday night’s game at Wake Forest.
In that game without both of the Capel brothers, Pitt fell to Boston College on the road by a score of 69-56.
“Obviously, when you lose your leader like we did with Coach Capel, that has a huge effect because it has been the voice that the guys have been responding to the whole time,” Associate Head Coach Milan Brown said after the loss. “We found out that Coach Capel wasn’t going 15 minutes before we got on the bus. He had to give a speech to the guys, and then we got on the bus and went to the airport. I know that had a direct effect on them.”
Pitt heads into Winston Salem to take on the 17-5 Demon Deacons at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
