Former RMU Basketball Star Lucky Jones Inducted Into Colonials’ Athletic Hall of Fame

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — During halftime of the Robert Morris men’s basketball game on Friday night, the school inducted six athletes, including former basketball star Lucky Jones, into its 2021 Athletic Hall of Fame class.

The 30th class of the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame was headlined by Jones, as well as multiple hockey, soccer, and football stars.

Jones played for Robert Morris from the 2011-12 season through 2014-15, appearing in 136 games and starting 94 in his career. He averaged 12 points and 6.2 rebounds per game throughout his four-year career in Moon, and stands as the program’s all-time leading rebounder with 846.

The 6-foot-6 forward competed in two NIT tournaments while playing for Robert Morris, as well as the 2015 NCAA Tournament. In that 2015 tournament, Jones played 27 minutes against Duke and scored seven points.

Along with Jones, Robert Morris inducted the following athletes into the school’s athletic Hall of Fame: Neco Brett (Soccer), Nolan Nearhoof (Football), Dante Payne (Football), Rebecca Vint (Hockey), and Cody Wydo (Hockey).
