Up next on the list of high-priority targets for Pitt basketball in the 2023 class is Carlton Carrington, a 6-foot-4 guard from Baltimore, Maryland.
Carrington plays for a loaded St. Frances Academy team in Baltimore and has been on Pitt’s radar for a while. He visited Pitt in October 2021 and has heard from the staff 2-3 times per week from the visit up until the present date.

Jeff Capel and Milan Brown have handled the recruitment of Carrington, and have done a solid job prioritizing him, as he told PSN that Pitt is ‘definitely a school I can see myself going to.’
The 247 Sports Composite ranks Carrington as the No. 145 player in the nation, as well as a top-20 combo guard in the class. The three-star prospect also holds offers from LSU, Rutgers, and more, and is near the top of Pitt’s priorities.
He plays at a smooth pace with his long, athletic frame, and can also extend his shot out beyond the three-point arch with confidence.
A new coach should be a top priority
Another combo guard. Meaning a kid who’s not good enough to play Point Guard and not a good enough shooter to be considered a Shooting Guard. These are like 90% of the players this crew seems to try to recruit. Which is why they stink every year.
