Frank Cignetti and Pitt Offer Two More Junior Quarterbacks

The Pitt football coaching staff continues to be on the prowl looking to add a high school quarterback to their future offer.

Earlier this week, we detailed and listed the 16 junior quarterbacks that Pitt has extended offers too and last night, that number was increased by two.

Pitt Football Continues to Look for Quarterback in Class of 2023

Thursday night, offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti Jr. and assistant quarterbacks coach Jonathan DiBiaso extended offers to 3-star quarterbacks Zane Flores and Javance Tupou’ata-Johnson.

Tupou’ata-Johnson is a 6’4″, 190-pound dual-threat quarterback from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California. With the addition of Pitt, Tupou’ata-Johnson also holds offers from Arizona State, BYU, Florida State, Nevada, Oregon and Toledo.

Flores is a 6’4″, 195-pound pro-style quarterback from Gretna High School in Gretna, Nebraska. Flores has received other offers from Bowling Green, Kansas, Kansas State, Memphis and Oklahoma State.

Since the hiring of Cignetti, Pitt has offered 10 quarterbacks: Flores, Tupou’ata-Johnson, Kenny Minchey (Tennessee), Marcus Stokes (Florida), Avery Johnson (Kansas), Hank Brown (Tennessee), JJ Kohl (Iowa), Brock Glenn (Tennessee), Bo Edmundson (Texas) and Christopher Vizzina (Alabama).
