On Saturday, plenty of talent was on display in Moon Township as Quaker Valley took on Lincoln Park in the WPIAL 4A Semifinals.

Pitt head coach Jeff Capel was in attendance watching, and after the game, talked to one of the top prospects that played.

After the game, Quaker Valley’s Adou Thiero told Pittsburgh Sports Now that Capel spoke with him following his 25-point, 13-rebound performance.

“He told me that he will be watching at the Pete and if I want to watch their game on Tuesday to let my coach know,” he told PSN.

Thiero has grown five inches in the past year and has blown up onto the recruiting scene as of late. From the guard position, he is an excellent rebounder and shot blocker, and also has improving guard skills and athleticism. He is a natural scorer and has been one of the most potent scorers all season in the WPIAL.

Last week, Thiero gave PSN an update on his recruitment following his visit to Indiana to check out the Hoosiers.

“Recruitment is picking up more so that’s good,” he said. “The IU visit was good. I have interest from Cincinnati, Elon, Robert Morris, UTEP, and Akron.”

Thiero also included that he is in the process of scheduling an official visit to UCSB.
