The Robert Morris men’s basketball team finished its second season in the Horizon League in 10th place, after the close of the regular season on Saturday.
The Colonials will face No. 7 seed Youngstown State in the first round. That game will tip off at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1 and be broadcast on ESPN+.
The Horizon League bracket re-seeds after the first-round, meaning if the Colonials win, they could play at No. 1 Cleveland State, No. 2 Purdue Fort Wayne or No. 3 Northern Kentucky in the second round. Those game will be held March 3.
The first round and quarterfinals of the Horizon League tournament will be held at campus sites. The semifinals and finals will take place at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis on March 7 and 8.
Robert Morris split its two games with Youngstown State this season, losing 64-60 at UPMC Events Center on Jan. 5, but winning 73-68 in Youngstown on Feb. 13. That was the Colonials’ last win, as the team finished the regular season on a four-game losing streak.
Overall, Robert Morris finished 5-16 in league play in the Colonials’ second season in the Horizon League, an improvement from their 3-12 mark in 2020-21. RMU exited the Horizon League tournament in the first round in 2021, losing to Detroit Mercy.
