The tandem of offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti Jr. and assistant quarterback coach Jonathan DiBiaso have been busy the last month evaluating and extending offers to high school quarterbacks, especially from the state of Tennessee.

Over the last few weeks, the Pitt program has offered- 2023 3-star Brock Glenn (Memphis, Tennessee), 2023 Hank Brown (Nashville, Tennessee), 2023 3-star Kenny Minchey (Hendersonville, Tennessee) and 2024 Cody Pagach (Franklin, Tennessee).

Another name from The Volunteer State was added to that last Tuesday night as Cignetti and DiBiaso offered freshman quarterback George MacIntyre from Brentwood Academy in Nashville, Tennessee. This was a big one for MacIntyre (6’5″, 175-pounds) because it was his first D-1 offer.

“The offer was a big surprise to me for sure when Coach DiBiaso said “well we would like to get on your early and offer you your first scholarship,”  MacIntyre told PSN. “Honestly, I don’t even remember what I said because there was just an aura of happiness, all the hard work I have put into the game has paid off. I am very interested in Pitt and love the way they have developed quarterbacks over the years. Kenny Pickett is one of my favorite quarterbacks to study, although I won’t ever wear two gloves!”

“I still have a long way to go in my development, but I believe my strengths are my touch throws, putting it where no one else but the receiver can get it, and my fluidity.”

Football isn’t the only sport that MacIntyre plays as he’s also a standout basketball player as well.
