Robert Morris men’s basketball upset Youngstown State on the road Tuesday night.
The No. 10 seed Colonials dominated the No. 7 Penguins for most of the game, especially in the second half, to secure a 77-73 victory.
The Colonials advance to face No. 1 seed Cleveland State Thursday night at 8 p.m, on ESPN+.
RMU became the only lower seed to win and advance to the second round of the Horizon League Tournament.
UIC, who was originally banned from winter and spring conference tournaments due to leaving the league at year’s end, forfeited it’s right to host as the higher seed but still won on the road.

Thursday night marks the second round and the first game for the top four seeds who received a first-round bye. Cleveland State, Purdue Fort Wayne, Northern Kentucky, and Wright State will host the next four sets of games
Other than Cleveland State-RMU, starting at 8 p.m., the matchups will all air on ESPN+ beginning at 7 p.m.
RMU is 0-2 against the Vikings this year, losing 78-72 at home on Jan. 7 and 75-68 in Cleveland on Jan. 23 in close contests the No. 1 seed closed out in the final minutes.
Each higher seed will host the second round before transitioning to Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis for the semifinals and finals March 7 and 8.
