Lately, Quaker Valley’s Adou Thiero has been the talk of Pittsburgh hoops.
The senior has grown five inches in the past year, and has seen both his production on court as well as his recruitment blow up. After scoring 25 points in a semifinal game last week, Thiero lit up the scoresheet for 31 points, 17 rebounds, and seven blocks in a championship-winning effort on Thursday night.
Just one day after his spectacular performance, Thiero picked up an offer from head coach Keith Dambrot and Duquesne.
On Friday, Thiero also heard from Pitt’s Jeff Capel, who was in attendance watching first hand. Capel congratulated him on the win and commended him for his exceptional performance. Specifically, Capel told Thiero that he admires his toughness and the fact that he played tough with a fractured hand.
