Westlake High School in Atlanta, Georgia produces Division One talent on a yearly basis.
Over the next couple of seasons, college coaches will be making plenty of trips to the Peach State in order to see Christian Peterson. The sophomore 5’11”, 185-pound safety from Westlake High School has earned early offers from Michigan, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Indiana.
Pitt is the latest school to join that list as Peterson officially received the offer from area recruiter and Pitt’s ace Georgia recruiter Archie Collins.
“My reaction when I first got the offer from the University of Pittsburgh was that I was very, very excited knowing that Pitt is a great program and is well coached. Just knowing that made me very excited about the offer,” said Peterson. “I really like Coach Collins. He’s just a cool dude overall and an excellent coach. I’m very excited to build our relationship even stronger over the next few years.”
“Something that stands out to me about Pitt football is that they not only make you a better athlete on the field but also a better person in life, which is important to me knowing that football can only last for so long.”
Despite getting the offer just a few days ago, Peterson isn’t wasting any time trying to learn more about the ACC Champions. He tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that he will make an unofficial visit to Pitt on March 26.
“When I come up, I’m looking forward to building an even stronger relationship with Coach Collins and also other coaches on the staff including the head coach (Pat Narduzzi). I’m also looking forward to seeing the facilities along with Pitt’s campus.”
After his trip to Pittsburgh, Peterson will also make a visit to check out Ole Miss on April 9.
