NEW YORK — On Tuesday afternoon, Boston College eliminated Pitt from the ACC tournament, winning 66-46 and ending the Panthers’ season at the Barclays Center.
John Hugley led the Panthers with 15 points, hitting 7 of his 12 shots and also grabbing eight rebounds in the loss. Mo Gueye, in the last game of his Pitt career, finished with 12 points, hitting two of his five three-point attempts.
Hear from Pitt head coach Jeff Capel along with Hugley after the game.
This team has no consistent offense other than Hughley, Mo was a nice surprise. This team is also devoid of Athletes, no high riser, no quick guards, not one player who can stand in front of someone and actually stay with them. Force feeding Big John is not going to work unless you get consistent outside shooting and players willing to box out and play hard nosed defense. Oh yeah, quit recruiting bums would also help.
