More recruiting news concerning the Duquesne men’s basketball program.

Earlier this morning, PSN told you of interest the Dukes are showing in transfer guard Deandre Gholston and now there’s news on a high school star.

Setting young men on the path to a better future.

Duquesne is heavily recruiting 2022 power forward Abdou-Halil Barre of Scotland Campus (Pennsylvania) and NY Renaissance. Halil Barre is a 6’9″, 225 forward that is considered a defensive force, is very long, strong and physical player.

NYCHoops.Net recently had this to say about Halil-Barre-

“The NYC native has been a dependable presence on the backboards and a high-level interior, above the rim finisher. He’s become the next intriguing big out of Scotland. He brings unique upside as a proficient scorer with a dependable 12-15 foot jumper which drags rim protectors away from the paint. Halil Barre’s big, commanding presence provides a stabilizing force for Scotland Campus.”

Duquesne's 2024 March Madness Tournament coverage is sponsored by Leon's Billiards & More, Moon Golf Club and Archie's on Carson! Their contributions have allowed us to cover the Dukes run in Omaha, Nebraska. We appreciate their support!

Halil Barre holds offers from Duquesne, Siena, LSU, South Florida, Youngstown State, Bryant and Illinois but PSN is told that Duquesne “leads” for his services.

Halil Barre is current playing at the Prep National Tournament in Connecticut.
